drugref database backup
This is a backup of the drugref database, dated Dec 5,2025. It was made using a recent v19 Oscar installation.
It can be used to update older Oscar installations.
Normally, the database can be updated using the Administration, Integration, Update Drugref option.
The process uploads the allfiles.zip file from
https://www.canada.ca/en/health-canada/services/drugs-health-products/drug-products/drug-product-database/what-data-extract-drug-product-database.html
The existing Oscar drugref database is erased, the allfiles.zip is downloaded, contents extracted and the drugref database is rebuilt.
If there is ANY problem with the process, you will probably be left with an empty drugref database ;-(
This has happened in the past due to changes in the file format and different file location.
Older versions of Oscar will be unable to update drugref because of these issues.
You can easily restore this backup into your older or failed installation until the issue is resolved.
The drugref database has not changed substantially for a very long time.
